Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026. Controller: Business Development Consultants, LLC.
What we collect
- Account: email address, sign-in provider (email link, Google or Discord), the date you confirmed you are 18+ and accepted the terms.
- Profile: handle, display name, and optional bio, avatar and links. These are public.
- Activity: your submissions and credits (public), your votes (private; only counts are public), contest entries, and profile-claim requests with the evidence link you provide.
- Reports and legal notices: the details you enter (for DMCA and TAKE IT DOWN forms this can include name, address, phone and email) plus a one-way hash of your IP address used only for rate limiting. Reporter identity is never shown publicly.
- Usage analytics: pages viewed, outbound clicks, plays where detectable, signups, submissions and votes, through PostHog. We don't record sessions or keystrokes, don't use analytics cookies (a random ID is kept in your browser's local storage), and discard your IP address after a rough country lookup. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, analytics is switched off.
- Technical logs: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.
How we use it
To run the service (sign-in, submissions, voting, contests), to moderate and meet legal obligations (TAKE IT DOWN, DMCA, repeat-infringer tracking), to send transactional email (sign-in links, report confirmations, claim decisions), and to understand and improve the product. We don't sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
- Service providers: Supabase (database, sign-in, avatar storage), Railway (hosting), PostHog (analytics), Resend (email).
- If you send a DMCA counter-notice, we forward it, including your contact details, to the person who sent the original notice, as the law requires.
- When required by law or to protect people from harm.
Google and Discord sign-in
If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive only your name, email address and profile picture from that account, and we can't read anything else in it. We use them only to create and secure your SlopTV account, prefill your display name and avatar (you can change both), and send you transactional email. We store them in our database (Supabase) for as long as your account exists and delete them when you delete your account. We never sell this data, share it with third parties except the service providers listed above, or use it for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove SlopTV's access at any time from your Google or Discord account settings.
Embedded video
Players load only after you press play. Until then we show the video's thumbnail image, which your browser fetches from the video platform (for example YouTube's image server) without sending which page you're on. YouTube embeds use youtube-nocookie.com and Vimeo embeds use do-not-track; once a player loads, that platform's privacy policy applies. Our fonts are served from our own domain.
Retention and deletion
- You can delete your account in Settings. We delete your sign-in, profile details, avatar, votes and claim requests. Posts you submitted stay up without your name; credits on others' posts show “Deleted user”.
- Moderation records, legal notices and the audit log are kept as long as needed to meet legal obligations and defend claims.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 12 months.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile any time, and ask for a copy of your data or for corrections by emailing mod@sloptv.si. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights; we will honour them as required by law. SlopTV is not for anyone under 18.
